The tip-up barrel allows direct chamber loading and safe clearing of the pistol. Jamming and stovepiping problems are virtually eliminated by the open slide design shared by all small frame Berettas. The Tomcat's barrel is forged from special high-strength steel; precisely rifled for accuracy. It has a black finish. The IFALSEx Tomcat model has a stainless steel slide and barrel with an exceptionally corrosion-resistant and durable gray-aFALSEdized frame to match the color and finish of the stainless components. The trigger, hammer, safety, magazine and other metal parts are blued.
